Every quarter, the Empire team steps away from our everyday work of building fences to do something we believe matters even more—serve people in our community who could use a helping hand.
Our core motivation comes directly from James 1:27: “Pure religion in the eyes of the Lord is caring for the widows and orphans in times of distress.” For us, putting faith into action means showing up with practical support, hard work, and open hearts.
We are deeply grateful to our team members and partners who donate their time, skills, and resources to make these projects happen. Showing up for someone facing life on their own sends a powerful message: “We’ve got you, and you are not alone.”

Highlights from This Quarter’s Projects
Each quarter, the Empire team steps away from regular projects to select local neighbors who could benefit from essential fence repairs and property updates. During our recent community service day, our dedicated team members and partners came together to transform three properties, restoring safety, privacy, and peace of mind for each household.
From installing brand-new fence runs and replacing leaning posts to setting secure gates, our crews worked hard to deliver long-term structural stability. Beyond the fencing work, our volunteers went the extra mile at one location by clearing overgrown landscaping, weeding garden beds, and repairing a damaged retaining wall.
Together, these project outcomes reflect our commitment to putting faith into action and showing our neighbors that they are supported by a caring community.

Project 1: Securing Peace of Mind & Property Safety
The Goal: Our primary focus was providing essential structural reinforcement and a restored sense of peace of mind for a neighbor navigating a difficult life transition. Carrying the heavy weight of new responsibilities alongside home maintenance can quickly feel overwhelming when adjusting to life on your own.
By stepping in to handle these critical repairs, our team aimed to lift that physical and emotional burden, offering a safe, secure boundary around the home while reminding our neighbor that she has a community standing right beside her.

What We Did:
- Installed a new 12-foot fence run on the front-left section of the yard (6-foot DEWP).
- Replaced all leaning posts on both sides of the property to ensure long-term stability.
- Extra Care: Our team also helped by mowing the lawn, trimming overgrown shrubs and trees, weeding the flowerbeds, and repairing a retaining wall damaged by tree roots.

Project 2: Restoring Outdoor Safety & Functionality
The Goal: The goal was to help a local neighbor create a safe, secure outdoor space where her family could gather and play without the constant worry of missing items. When a yard lacks proper boundaries, simple everyday moments outside can become stressful, especially after experiencing property loss in the past.
By replacing damaged pickets and setting new posts to hang a sturdy, reliable gate, our team was able to fully enclose the area and restore a sense of privacy and safety to the backyard.

What We Did:
- Replaced 15 damaged pickets, custom-cutting them to 4.5 feet tall.
- Set 2 new terminal posts.
- Installed and hung a new GALCL gate with a secure latch mechanism on the left side of the yard.

Project 3: Restoring Boundaries & Enclosing the Yard
The Goal: Our focus was assisting a local neighbor with ongoing home maintenance needs to ensure a safe, fully enclosed yard space. Keeping up with household upkeep while caring for a household can make major outdoor repairs feel like an insurmountable task. By stepping in to replace damaged support posts and installing a brand-new 22-foot fence run, our crew was able to secure the property line, giving our neighbor peace of mind that her yard is safe, functional, and secure.

What We Did:
- Replaced a key damaged 4×4 support post.
- Installed a brand-new 22-foot fence run (6-foot DEWP) along the left side of the property line.

You Don’t Need a Big Platform to Make a Difference
We hope these projects serve as a simple reminder: you don’t need a huge budget or a massive organization to help someone in need. Whatever your trade or daily work, you have something valuable to offer your neighbors:
- A contractor can repair a fence.
- A landscaper can tend a yard.
- A mechanic can fix a vehicle.
- A teacher can encourage a child.
- A neighbor can lend a hand.

Thank you to every member of our work crews, greeting teams, and photographers for serving as the hands and feet of Jesus in our community this quarter!
