What Is an Ameristar Montage Steel Fence?

Home » Fence Guide » What Is an Ameristar Montage Steel Fence?

Ameristar Montage is a welded steel ornamental fence: strong steel pickets and rails welded into rigid panels, then powder-coated to resist rust and fading. It is the ornamental line Empire Fence builds for homes and businesses across Tulsa and northeast Oklahoma when you want a decorative fence that lasts.

Montage comes in a few series and rail configurations.

What Makes Montage Steel

Montage is welded steel, not aluminum and not old-fashioned wrought iron. The pickets and rails are welded into a rigid panel at the factory, which makes it stronger and cleaner-looking than fences that bolt or rack together. A baked-on powder coat protects the steel, so it resists rust and holds its black finish for years with little upkeep. Our Ameristar page shows the line, and you can compare it to true wrought iron in our guide to ornamental versus wrought iron.

Where Montage Fits

Montage works for both homes and businesses. On a residence, it gives a refined front-yard or pool enclosure with an open, decorative look. For commercial and higher-security sites, the welded panels and set spacing make it secure and hard to climb, which is why it shows up in our best fence for security and strongest fence guides, alongside our commercial and high-security options. It is also a strong pick for a pool, with the right picket spacing for safety.

Why Steel, Not Aluminum or Iron

Steel gives Montage its strength. Aluminum ornamental fences are lighter and resist rust, but they do not match welded steel for security and rigidity. True wrought iron is hand-forged, largely a historical and custom material, and it needs ongoing care to fight rust. Powder-coated welded steel gives you the classic ornamental look with modern durability and far less maintenance, which is why we build Montage. Related Questions

Ornamental steel questions from Tulsa property owners.

Is Ameristar Montage steel or aluminum?

Montage is welded steel, which gives it more strength and rigidity than aluminum. Empire builds the steel Montage line as our primary ornamental fence.

Does Montage steel rust?

It resists rust well. The steel is powder-coated with a baked-on finish that protects it and holds its color for years with little maintenance, even in Oklahoma weather.

Is ornamental steel good for a pool fence?

Yes. With the right picket spacing and a self-closing, self-latching gate, ornamental steel makes a strong, attractive pool-compliant barrier. See the best fence for kids’ safety.
