Black finished chain link was the right call here, because dark mesh visually recedes and what you notice is the yard behind it rather than the fence itself. We set 1 5/8 inch line posts and heavier 2 3/8 inch terminal posts in concrete, stretched 9 gauge fabric against a 1 3/8 inch black top rail, and ran galvanized tension wire so the bottom edge stays tight instead of lifting. A stretch of Ameristar Montage in the Majestic three rail pattern gives the front a more formal face, on 2 inch 16 gauge black posts with a 4 inch picket airspace and an extended bottom rail. Bristow yards get both security and an open outlook from a mix like this.
