Several runs came together on this property, each framed identically: 2 1/2 inch square steel posts in concrete, three Douglas fir 2×4 backrails, and 5/8 inch by 3.5 inch Douglas fir pickets pre-stained in a cedar tone, fastened with galvanized ring shank nails. Two kinds of gate finish the work. One is a wood privacy gate matched to the fence, the other a gate we welded from 1 1/2 inch galvanized square steel tubing and faced with the same pickets, hung to swing outward away from the house. Putting the steel framed gate at the hardest working opening is a simple call that pays off on any Broken Arrow lot.
