Where the walk gate lands, the pickets, the stain, and the fasteners all match the fence, and heavy duty hinges with a secure latch keep it swinging true. The run behind it is built two ways on purpose. Part of it stands on 2 1/2 inch square steel posts and part on 4×4 treated posts, both set in concrete, which lets us answer different soil and access conditions on one property. Pickets throughout are 5/8 inch by 3.5 inch Douglas fir, pre-stained cedar tone, over three 2×4 backrails with galvanized ring shank nails. From the street, the two sections read as a single line, which is what matters on a Broken Arrow corner lot.
