One side of this property wanted privacy and the other wanted a view, so it got both. On the enclosed side, 5/8 inch by 3.5 inch Douglas Fir pickets, pre-stained cedar tone, sit on three Douglas Fir 2×4 backrails with galvanized ring shank nails and 2 1/2 inch square steel posts in concrete. On the open side we installed Ameristar Montage Majestic in a three rail profile on 2 inch, 16 gauge black posts, with 4 inch standard picket airspace and an extended picket bottom rail. A cedar tone walk gate serves the yard, and we hung an ornamental iron walk gate on heavy duty hinges elsewhere. Jenks lots frequently call for exactly this split.
