Two separate runs of privacy fence went up on this property, both standing on 2 1/2 inch square steel posts set in concrete. Each run uses 5/8 inch by 3.5 inch Douglas Fir pickets, dog ear cut and pre-stained cedar tone, fixed with galvanized ring shank nails to three Douglas Fir 2×4 backrails. The walk gate carries an adjustable diagonal support brace, so the frame can be tuned back to square long after the fence is in, and it swings outward away from the house to clear steps and planters. Steel posts take the failure point of a wood fence out of the equation. Broken Arrow back yards with long, straight property lines suit this layout.
