One walk gate, matched board for board to the fence, hung on heavy duty hinges with a secure latch and braced with backrails so the frame holds its shape. The fence is an all wood build: 4×4 treated posts set in concrete, three Douglas fir 2×4 backrails, and 5/8 inch by 3.5 inch Douglas fir pickets pre-stained in cedar tone, fastened with galvanized ring shank nails. Treated posts are the traditional answer, and setting them in concrete keeps them from working loose as the ground takes on water and dries out again.
