Full height screening on a traditional frame: 4×4 treated posts set in concrete, three Douglas fir 2×4 back rails, and Douglas fir pickets at 5/8 by 3.5 by 6 feet that arrived pre-stained in a cedar tone. Wood posts give the run a consistent look, since post and picket share the same material and weather at a similar pace. Treated lumber is rated for ground contact, and concrete footings keep the posts from working loose as clay swells and shrinks through the year. Galvanized ring shank nails hold without bleeding rust down the face. We built the walk gate in the same wood. It is a familiar sight on Bixby lots.
