A treated 4×4 post line gives the fence a uniform wood look from every angle, with no metal showing at the ends of the run. Those posts are rated for ground contact and set in concrete. Three Douglas fir 2×4 back rails span between them, and 5/8 by 3.5 inch fir pickets, dog eared and already stained a cedar tone, cover the face on galvanized ring shank nails. The stain reached the edges and cut ends of every board before it left the shop. A wood walk gate in the same stock swings on heavy duty hinges. It is a familiar, well proven build, and it looks at home on almost any Broken Arrow street.
