Two fence styles and two gates had to line up on this property, so the full layout went in before any digging. The privacy run came first: 2 1/2 inch square steel posts in concrete, three Douglas fir 2×4 backrails, 5/8 inch by 3.5 inch cedar pickets, galvanized ring shank nails. The open run uses 4 inch round treated posts with 4 inch by 8 foot doweled rails and 9 gauge black chain link behind them. A chain link walk gate serves the open side, and a gate we welded from 1 1/2 inch galvanized square steel tubing, clad in cedar, opens outward on the private side. That mix reads well on wide Collinsville lots.
