This yard uses two materials on purpose. We built 114 feet of 6 foot cedar privacy fence where the homeowner wanted screening, then installed 64 feet of 6 foot Montage Majestic three rail ornamental steel where an open view was worth keeping. Two 4 foot cedar walk gates and one 4 foot iron walk gate connect the two systems. The steel panels carry a factory finish that shrugs off the moisture bare iron cannot, while the cedar sits on square steel posts that stay plumb in Oklahoma’s shifting clay. Splitting a perimeter this way suits Jenks properties where part of the yard needs cover and the rest is better left open to the light.
