One fence line, two kinds of gate. The run itself is 5/8 by 3.5 inch cedar dog ear pickets over three Douglas fir 2×4 back rails, carried on 2 1/2 inch square steel posts set in concrete, with galvanized ring shank nails throughout. For the opening that sees the most traffic, we welded a frame from 1 1/2 inch galvanized square steel tubing and clad it in the same cedar, so it stays square no matter how often it swings, and set it to open outward away from the house. The second gate is wood framed on heavy duty hinges with sturdy back rails. Matching each gate to its use is worth doing on any Broken Arrow property.
