Solid wood in one area, ornamental steel in another, and each needed its own footing plan. For the privacy run we set 2 1/2 inch square steel posts in concrete, framed with three Douglas fir 2×4 backrails, and nailed on 5/8 inch by 3.5 inch cedar pickets with galvanized ring shank nails. For the ornamental run we set 2 inch by 16 gauge black posts in concrete and installed Montage panels with 4 inch picket airspace and an extended picket bottom rail. The cedar walk gate hangs in the privacy line. Mixing the two lets a Broken Arrow home keep an open look at the street and real screening behind it.
