We built 178 feet of 6 foot cedar privacy fence here and hung one 4 foot walk gate, set to swing outward because the grade inside the yard leaves no room for it to open in. Part of the line runs beside a retaining wall, so we set a longer post at that point to hold full height where the ground drops away. Small calls like that keep a fence reading level from the street instead of stepping down a slope in visible jumps. Square steel posts in concrete anchor the run, and 5/8 inch cedar pickets take the wet spring and dry late summer that Tulsa yards see every year without warping off the rail.
