This property took 280 feet of 6 foot cedar privacy fence on square steel posts, along with a 5 foot welded steel framed walk gate. The old fence came out along the full line before any new posts went in. At 280 feet, the run covers enough ground that small differences in soil and grade start to show, so each post was set on its own to hold the top line straight. Steel posts do not rot and do not twist, which is what keeps a long cedar wall from going wavy after a few Oklahoma summers. The gate frame is welded galvanized tube instead of wood, because the hardest use any fence sees happens at the gate.

The 280 foot run is cedar over three backrails on square steel posts, sized and spaced to keep a long privacy wall flat and plumb.

For the 5 foot walk gate we welded a galvanized square tube frame in our shop and faced it in fence cedar, a frame that will not rack out of square the way a wood gate frame eventually can.
