We put up 222 feet of 6 foot cedar dog ear privacy fence on steel posts and hung two 4 foot welded steel framed walk gates. Two openings on a run this long let you reach either side of the yard without walking the whole perimeter. Each gate frame is galvanized square tube under cedar pickets, a build that will not sag out of square the way an all wood gate eventually does. The fence posts are square steel in concrete, chosen for the same reason: they hold their line while clay soil expands and contracts. Cedar handles heat and humidity well.
