We took the old fence down and stacked the material where the customer wanted it, then built the new line in two parts: 133 feet of six foot cedar and 88 feet of four foot round rail with black chain link behind the rails. An eight foot double gate and a four foot walk gate open the cedar section. Splitting a yard this way gives you a solid screen close to the house and an open boundary everywhere else, which keeps the lot from feeling boxed in. The cedar sits on square steel posts in concrete and the round rail on treated round posts, and both handle the ground movement that comes with Broken Arrow clay after a wet spring.
