We built 166 feet of 6 foot cedar privacy fence on 4×4 treated posts here, with one 4 foot walk gate, and pulled out the old fence still standing along part of the line. Treated posts and cedar pickets make an all wood fence that looks right on an established Broken Arrow street. Every post went into concrete, which is what keeps a wood post from wicking moisture straight out of the clay. Three fir backrails carry the pickets so the wall stays flat and the boards cannot twist away from the frame. Cedar handles sun on a south face without splitting, and it needs nothing from you to keep doing it.
