This fence runs two ways: 122 feet framed on treated four by four wood posts and 46 feet on square steel posts, both faced in six foot cedar so the change in framing never shows from the yard. A four foot walk gate opens the line, and we framed a doggy window into the cedar and backed it with black mesh. The pickets sit an inch off grade on purpose, which lets water move under the fence instead of standing against the picket ends and wicking up into the wood. On larger Coweta lots where runoff crosses the property, that inch is the difference between cedar that lasts and cedar that rots from the bottom up.
