Fifty feet of eight foot cedar and seven feet of six foot cedar make up this run, both finished with cap board and trim, plus one walk gate. The existing steel posts were still sound, so we pulled the old wood and rebuilt on what was already in the ground. Eight foot fence takes four backrails instead of three, because the extra height gives wind more surface to work on and the panel needs the added stiffness. Pickets face smooth side out on this one. Where a Tulsa lot sits close to whatever is behind it, that taller section is often the difference between a backyard that feels private and one that does not.

Privacy Fence 8' Cedar Cap & Trim on Steel Posts

The 50 foot eight foot section gives this yard privacy a standard six foot fence could not reach, and the fourth backrail keeps the extra height from flexing in wind. We removed the old wood and rebuilt on the existing steel posts, which were still solid.
