The rails are 4 inch doweled treated pine seated into 4 inch round treated posts set in concrete, which gives the line its shape and takes the weight of animals leaning on it. Behind the rails runs 9 gauge black vinyl coated chain link, so dogs and smaller animals stay inside while the fence still reads as open pasture rail from the road. Black mesh recedes against grass and tree lines instead of shining. A double gate and a walk gate, both black chain link, were hung to match.
