Two heights split the work on this property. Along the open side, 4 inch round treated pine posts set in concrete carry 4 inch by 8 foot doweled round rails, backed with 9 gauge black chain link so pets stay in while the view stays open. Where the yard needed cover, we ran Douglas fir pickets at 5/8 by 3.5 by 6 feet, pre-stained in a cedar tone, on 2 1/2 inch square steel posts with three Douglas fir 2×4 back rails and galvanized ring shank nails. We built a wood walk gate for the privacy side and hung a black chain link walk gate in the rail run. Bixby lots frequently need both kinds of edge at once.
