Two rails, four inch stock, and every joint doweled: the rail ends are shaped to fit bored holes in the 4 inch round treated posts, so this fence holds together through wood joinery rather than fasteners. Concrete footings anchor each post against clay that moves with the seasons. On the back face we ran 9 gauge finish black chain link, which reads as almost nothing from the road and turns an open ranch rail into something that genuinely contains a dog. A black chain link walk gate and an 8 foot double gate break the line for people and for a truck or trailer. The look suits acreage on the edge of Claremore.
