We set 4 inch round treated pine posts in concrete, fit 4 inch by 8 foot doweled round rails between them, and backed the run with 9 gauge black chain link so the space under and between the rails is closed. Two gates hang in the same round rail style, a walk gate and a wider double gate for moving a mower or trailer through.
