Hanging gates in a round rail fence takes planning, because the rails themselves cannot carry the load. Each opening gets its own posts set in concrete, and we hung the walk gate and the 10-foot double gate in black chain link so they read as part of the same line. The fence is 4″ treated pine posts with 4″ x 8′ doweled round rails and 9 gauge black chain link fabric stretched behind them.
