Layout on a rail fence has to be right the first time, because the rails are cut to the posts. We measured the line, set 4 inch round treated posts in concrete, and seated 4 inch by 8 foot doweled rails between them. Then 9 gauge black chain link went across the back, stretched tight so nothing pushes through at the bottom. The walk gate hangs in the finished run. The added height gives you more of a barrier for larger dogs while the rails still frame the property rather than walling it off. Around Owasso, this build suits the bigger yards where a solid screen would feel out of place.
