Rail Fence Styles
Round rail fence includes round dowels tapered on both ends to fit into wood posts. This is called “doweled” rail.
We also offer a ranch rail style, using metal posts and cedar planks for a more refined look.
Quality of Materials
Historically, Empire Fence has built wood round rail fencing using treated Douglas Fir material – a solid, firm soft wood offering, the treated Douglas Fir has been the cornerstone of the round rail market in Northeast Oklahoma.
The market, however, is changing with round rail fencing, as treatment processes continue to shift. In an effort to provide the most reliable solutions – in 2018, we started to use products like treated Southern Yellow Pine for the ground-contact posts.
Other vendors have presented plastic wraps and tars for protecting the posts. We have found that changing the wood type is the most cost-efficient choice. Empire commits to remaining on the bleeding edge of material choices as new technologies enter the market.
Rail Fence Chain Link Options
For added security you can have chain link metal fabric stapled to the fence. This helps keep pets and children safe.
Our most popular finish is black vinyl coated chain link, but galvanized chain link, green chain link and more colors are available upon request.
Many Homeowners Associations around Tulsa require the installation of round rail type fences near ponds and common areas. Review your local covenants for more direction and specifics.
