We built 168 feet of six foot cedar privacy fence on steel posts where the yard needed screening, then ran 75 feet of black chain link where the sight line was worth keeping open. A walk gate serves each section. Mixing the two is a practical way to handle a property that wants privacy along the neighbors and visibility everywhere else. The black finish on the mesh sits back visually, so that stretch reads as open yard rather than fencing.
